following extracted from the
D&DAC leaflet
- Loch Tarsan.
- A large (273 acre) Hydro Electric loch
which is situated on the B838 about eight miles from Dunoon. It is
stocked with high quality brown trout. For the angler who likes to
"walk and stalk" his quarry, bank fishing can be most productive,
but boats may be hired for traditional loch-style fishing.
- Loch Loskin (The Lochan)
- This 6 acre loch, owned by the Club,
is situated on the A885 Sandbank Road about one mile from Dunoon town
centre. Fly fishing is from boat only by traditional methods. Only
electric outboard mptors are permitted. Later in the season, the loch
holds sea trout. The Lochan's natural stock of brown trout is augmented
with high quality stocked fish.
- Dunoon Reservoir.
- Formerly the water supply for the town,
this loch is situated in the Bishop's Glen public park, within walking
distance from the town. The water, which is just over 5 acres in size,
is regularly stocked with rainbow trout of up to 5lbs providing a
pleasant fishing amenity close to the town.

- River Massan.
- Located six miles from the town, the
River Massan joins the River Eachaig shortly before the waters flow
into the Holy Loch. Worm and spinning methods are popular although
some pools and the upper stretches can be fished with the fly. Glen
Massan, with its unique rock formations carved by the river can provide
exciting fishing in an area of great scenic beauty.
- River Cur.
- The River Cur lies along the A815 about
13 miles from Dunoon. There is about one mile of fishing on the east
bank. The main pools are easily accessible and there are good stretches
of fly water.
- River Finnart.
- There is a small spate river flowing
into Loch Long north of Ardentinny about 12 miles from Dunoon on the
A880. The Club has about two miles of double bank fishing.
- River Ruel.
- Occasional permits are available for
this river which flows through Glendaruel (A888, 17 miles from Dunoon).
About a mile of single bank fishing is available. This water is fly
fishing only, spinning allowed in high water and bait fishing is banned.
